His Work

7.6.

1
The Author of salvation,
The Saviour meek and mild,
Once took a lowly station,
Became a little child.

2
In infancy a stranger,
How mean was His abode!
His cradle was a manger,
Himself the Son of God.

3
No stain of sin nor folly,
Could ever cloud His brow;
His heart, so pure and holy,
With love did ever glow.

4
And when His foes assailed Him,
He sought but to forgive;
When to the cross they nailed Him,
He died that they might live.
