How great is the love which Jesus hath shown,
He came from above, from heaven’s bright throne,
That He might deliver poor sinners from hell,
And take them for ever in glory to dwell.

O did He come down to rescue my soul
From God’s dreadful frown and Satan’s control?
He came to deliver all who to Him fly,
He’ll take them for ever to glory on high.
